NLCS drama, Take 1

One game down in the Championship Series round and one incredibly dramatic finish already in the books. I wonder if they’ll all be like that. Probably, right?

PHILLIES 3, DODGERS 2

Just when you thought the Dodgers had Game 1 of the National League Championship Series all sewn up in a nice blue bow, the home team made some noise. You absolutely knew there would be some homers rocketing out of tiny Citizens Bank Park, and the locals didn’t disappoint, with Chase Utley and Pat Burrell doing enough damage to hold serve.

The tone was set with great pitching — Derek Lowe and Cole Hamels locked up in a classic October duel — and great defense. And then Brad Lidge continued his perfect season, nailing down another save.

What will happen tonight in St. Pete? Will it be the Rays or Red Sox getting it started on the right foot in the American League Championship Series?

I want to hear your thoughts about anything and everything related to the Championship Series.

Utley & Burrell PHILLY LUMBER CO. Phils looking good against Dodger tossers! But that’s only one game. I still have to stick with my pick(BIG BLUE WRECKING CREW in five over Philly!) Big Manny cannot do it by himself!

I watched most of the game yesterday (and slowly drifted to sleep, not because it was boring). I thought it was pretty exciting which is what fans like me LIVE FOR! I am currently watching game 2 and it’s a good one! Go Phills! We love Joe Torre but hate Manny. (he’s like an itch that just won’t go away 🙂 ) BEAT L.A. !

    and GO RAYS!!! 😉

Although I didn’t get to see Game 2 of the NLCS (my mistake), I did enjoy that exciting game 1! It was a great game, and a lot of great baseball was played.
As for Game 1 of the ALCS, that was truly a pitchers duel. Dice-K vs. Shields? How much better can you get? Both were dominant for the most part, but Dice-K did come out on top.
Now that the Philles lead the series 2-0, I’m not sure how that’s going to play out. But I’m sure the Dodgers will give the Philles a run for their money.
As for the Sox and the Rays, I’m leaning towards the Red Sox in 6 or 7.
    Go Red Sox!

No doubt that all of the teams that made it this far play great baseball. I’ve always liked my team, the Philadelphia Phillies, but now I’m completely obsessed with them. So of course I’d like to see them to go all the way. I got to see Game 1 of the NLDS thanks to my new favorite brother; it was GREAT! I can see I’m not going to get much sleep this week. GO Phils!!
